Charlie Strickland is a co-founder of Talon Training Group and Talon Range and has personally trained thousands of civilians in personal safety and the personal use of firearms. He has written and published several articles on personal safety and has taught many business, HOAs and churches about security issues. He has consulted with many of the business right here in the capital region to determine their specific needs and now wants to help fill those needs. Charlie still serves as a TAC Team Leader in Law Enforcement and is actively involved in training law enforcement, school security and civilians in all aspects of personal safety and response.

Donna Strickland served for over a decade and a half as an Emergency Dispatcher with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and with the Consolidated Dispatch Agency. She currently works at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office as the Dispatch Supervisor over Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS. Her experience has made her very familiar with alarms, dispatch procedures and personnel currently serving in the capital region.

How We Started

Talon Security was the product of our founders’ concerns with the safety of the capital city region. Charlie Strickland is a 32-year veteran law enforcement officer and retired from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office after a career on the job. He was a SWAT Team Leader, a High Liability Trainer and Commander of several units in Investigations, Special Operations and Patrol. He has been trained in nearly every facet of site security, counter terrorism and active shooter response, and he has trained many law enforcement officers in these areas as well. Charlie now serves as a Captain with a local Sheriff’s Office where he volunteers as a TAC Team Leader and Commander, continuing his public safety career while still training, co-owning two gun ranges and gun stores and a farm. Charlie is available to consult with you on any of your security needs and can prepare a plan tailored just for you or your business.

Our Commitment

Charlie and Donna have identified a need for a locally-owned, highly trained and responsive security agency that can liaise with the local law enforcement community to enhance the safety of your properties. Law enforcement is charged with patrolling vast areas and responding to emergencies when called. Security services protect your property exclusively and can be counted on to be there 24/7 if need be. However, security services are not always well trained and dependable. Talon Security can be counted on to work closely with you to identify your needs specific to your issues and provide the services you need at a reasonable cost.
